Circuit Praise Service

Spondon Methodist Church recently hosted a Circuit Praise Service to celebrate the ministry of three Ministers in the Derby Circuit.

We said thank you to Reverend Colin Emerson for 13 years of ministry in the Derby Circuit. Colin is now ‘sitting down’ – which is Methodist speak for retiring!  A gift was presented in grateful thanks to Colin by Barry Liggett on behalf of Borrowash, Draycott and Spondon Methodist Churches. This was also a celebration of 30 years of ordained ministry with greetings shared from friends in previous Circuits where Colin had served over the previous 17 years, namely Falmouth, Harrogate and Goole.  

We also acknowledged special ordination anniversaries of two retired Deacons: Rosemary Bell who was ordained 60 years ago, and Deacon Jane Rice who was ordained 25 years ago. 

It was good to mark these special anniversaries and give thanks for each person’s unique God-given gifts and graces.
