The Derby Methodist Circuit is seeking to appoint a part-time Local Lay Pastor to
support mission, ministry and pastoral care at St John’s with Duffield Methodist
Church in Allestree, as well as supporting a monthly gathering of Methodists in
Duffield.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to build on the faithful ministry of the
current Lay Pastor who will retire in February 2026. The Lay Pastor will be
hands-on in supporting volunteers who run Church groups and activities and
will also help to develop new mission initiatives to help the church connect with
the local community through outreach, hospitality, and relationship building.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who can work
collaboratively with existing volunteers and the Minister who has pastoral
charge and oversight. If you have proven leadership skills, and an ability to
